Building trust with people you just moved in with
Do the small things you say you will do. Pay on time, clean your part, answer messages, return borrowed items, and tell people early if plans change. Trust is mostly the record of ordinary follow-through.
Be clear about boundaries and preferences without turning every difference into a rule. A roommate does not need to share your habits to respect them.
Give trust time. Friendly first impressions help, but a dependable month is more valuable than a spectacular first week.
