The real cost of co-living in San Francisco
Start with monthly rent, then add every required charge: utilities, fees, parking, laundry, insurance, deposits, and any move-in or cleaning cost. Compare that all-in total with a traditional furnished or unfurnished room in the same area.
Then price the convenience. Furnishings, a short term, internet, cleaning, and a quick move-in have value, especially for a short stay. They are not free simply because they are bundled.
Read the end of the agreement as carefully as the beginning. Notice periods, early-exit charges, deposit conditions, and extension rates can change the true cost more than the advertised monthly price.
