The costs can include higher rent, standardized rules, smaller rooms, frequent turnover, and less say over who joins the home. A manager can resolve a problem, but cannot guarantee compatible people.

Choose it when the convenience fits your needs. Choose a conventional room share when control over price, house culture, and roommates matters more.
