How to find housing for a 6-month contract
Start your search with the contract’s exact dates, then add a little buffer at both ends. A six-month position often needs a room that starts before orientation and ends after the final workday, not exactly on payroll dates.
Look for a sublet, a furnished room, or a lease takeover with a documented end date. Ask who holds the master lease, whether the owner approves the arrangement, and what notice applies if the job ends early.
Keep the agreement simple and written. It should state rent, utilities, deposit, dates, furniture, and move-out expectations. Certainty matters more than a clever bargain.
