How to find a month-to-month room
Search for listings that say month-to-month, flexible, rolling, or short-term. Then ask the direct question: is there a fixed initial term, and how much notice must either side give? “Flexible” means little until the notice rule is clear.
Treat the room like any other home. Meet the people, check the commute, ask about bills and quiet hours, and confirm that the person offering it has the right to do so. A temporary arrangement still needs a real place and a real agreement.
Keep your own move-out plan. Flexible terms help, but a room can still end with notice. Know where you would go next and avoid buying more furniture than you can move.
