How to find a pet-friendly room in SF
Put the pet in the first message, not after a tour. State the species, size, age, temperament, training, and daily routine. Include a clear photo. A landlord or roommate should not have to drag these facts out of you.
Search listings that expressly allow pets, then confirm two separate approvals: the lease permits the animal, and the people in the home agree. A pet-friendly building does not settle the roommate question.
At the viewing, look for the ordinary realities: stairs, a safe door and gate, nearby walking routes, litter-box space, noise transfer, and who will be home. Bring veterinary records or references if they help. The best match is a household that understands the routine before move-in.
