How to write a listing that welcomes LGBTQ+ applicants
Lead with the facts: room, rent, dates, lease status, household size, shared spaces, guests, and work routines. Say that the household respects all residents’ names, pronouns, identities, and boundaries, then make sure the existing residents share that commitment.
Avoid asking applicants to disclose private information. Screen on lawful, relevant criteria such as timing, ability to pay, and household agreements. Give every serious applicant the same clear process.
An inclusive listing is backed by inclusive behavior after move-in.
