How to find a queer-friendly household in SF
Start with communities and referrals where people can describe the household honestly. Then ask the same housing questions as always: lease status, rent, guests, privacy, chores, and safety. Meet the people who actually live there.
Ask how the household handles names and pronouns, overnight guests, conflict, and visitors who may not share the residents’ values. Notice whether the answers are specific and whether residents speak respectfully about former housemates.
A welcoming listing is a start. The lived culture of the home is the real test.
