How to vet a household as a woman moving to SF
Tour in person or through a live video call. Meet everyone who lives there and ask who holds the lease, how rent is paid, and how a new roommate is approved. Check the bedroom door, building entry, street, and route home.
Ask about guests, parties, overnight visitors, quiet hours, cleaning, and how conflicts are handled. Listen for clear answers rather than promises that everyone is “chill.”
Get terms in writing. The right household will not resent reasonable questions about safety and boundaries.
