Sharing your location with a friend during viewings
Send a trusted friend the listing, address, host name, and appointment time. Share live location only for the viewing if that is comfortable, then agree on a check-in message when you leave. Keep your phone charged and your own way home.
If plans change, update the friend. If you stop responding or feel unsafe, they should know what action you want them to take. Do not rely on a roommate candidate to be your safety contact.
This small habit is useful even for listings that appear legitimate.
