Never wire money for a room: here's why
Scammers favor wire services because the payment can move quickly and offers little practical recourse. The same caution applies to gift cards, cryptocurrency, and demands for cash before a verified viewing.
Do not let a “refundable” promise change the risk. Verify the home and person, review a written agreement, and use a documented payment method only when the arrangement is real.
If a supposed landlord says wire transfer is the only option, walk away. A legitimate housing arrangement has safer ways to collect money.
