Should co-founders live together? The honest trade-offs
Living together can reduce costs, simplify coordination, and build trust during a short intense period. It can also make every product disagreement follow you into sleep, meals, relationships, and weekends.
Before agreeing, discuss work hours, visitors, privacy, rent liability, chores, conflict, and how either person exits. Decide whether home meetings have a cutoff and where confidential calls happen.
It works best when the founders already communicate clearly and the arrangement has a review date. Living together should be a choice, not an unexamined startup default.
