How to divide move-out cleaning costs fairly
Decide whether the household will clean together or hire help. Divide ordinary shared cleaning equally unless one person left unusual mess, damage, or abandoned property. Use photos and receipts, not assumptions.
Check the lease for required standards and schedule the work before the final inspection. Record who paid for supplies, cleaners, hauling, and any repair. Keep personal bedroom costs separate from common-area costs.
