Splitting the internet, streaming, and shared subscriptions

September 5, 2025

Internet is usually a household utility; divide it among residents and keep the account holder and due date visible. Streaming is optional. Ask who uses it, what the monthly cost is, and whether the provider permits the intended household use.

Do not add a roommate to subscriptions without consent or share passwords beyond the service terms. Cancel services that only one person uses instead of turning them into resentment.

Review subscriptions every few months. Small recurring charges are easy to forget and surprisingly hard to unwind later.
