How to find a sublet when you arrive mid-lease-cycle
Look for rooms whose available date matches your arrival rather than forcing a household to hold a vacancy. Read the listing for the term, lease status, furniture, household count, utilities, and required approval. Ask whether the sublet is authorized and who is on the primary lease.
Tour the actual room or take a live video tour. Verify the address, meet the person collecting rent, and see shared spaces. Get the rent, deposit, duration, and move-out date in writing before sending money.
A one- or two-month sublet can be a smart landing spot. It should not require you to accept vague terms or an unsafe payment method.
