How to know if you're the difficult roommate
If several roommates raise the same issue—late rent, dishes, noise, guests, messages left unanswered—take the pattern seriously. Being busy or stressed may explain a habit, but it does not erase its effect on the people you live with.
Ask a trusted former roommate for honest feedback. Then choose a specific fix: automatic rent payments, a weekly cleaning reminder, headphones after ten, or a guest notice rule. Apologize plainly when you have created extra work.
Everyone is difficult sometimes. The difference is whether you notice, repair, and build a better routine.
