How to match on lifestyle, not just budget
Budget determines which rooms you can afford. Lifestyle determines whether you can stay. Ask about sleep, work, cooking, cleaning, guests, substances, pets, and how often people are home.
State your own pattern plainly. If you host dinners twice a month, say so. If you need quiet for an early shift, say that too. A person can have the right income and still be a poor fit for your daily life.
Look for compatible expectations, not identical schedules. A night owl and early riser can coexist with clear light and noise rules. Two people with the same rent ceiling cannot coexist if neither can compromise on visitors or mess.
Housing is a shared routine before it is a shared bill.
