Green flags to look for in a future roommate
A good candidate communicates directly about move-in date, budget, and routine. They ask questions about the household instead of treating the room as a hotel. They can describe past roommate situations without turning every former housemate into a villain.
Look for follow-through. They arrive when promised, send documents as agreed, and respond to an awkward question without evasion. They respect a “no” about smoking, guests, pets, or a viewing time.
Green flags are not a guarantee. They are evidence that a person can manage shared obligations. In a roommate search, that is much more valuable than effortless charm.
